At the pallet wrap store we are always looking at options to offer cost savings and alternative products to our customers, in the past we have offered 12 micron stretch wrap with 500 meters per roll to spread the cost of the box and core over an increased roll length. This enabled us to bring down the overall cost per meter of stretch wrap and reduce cardboard and paper core waste. We are now please to announce the launch of our 8 micron high performance stretch wrap.
With new technologies and techniques in the plastics industry we can offer a very strong, highly tear and puncture resistant stretch wrap which can perform to a standard far higher than its thickness would suggest. In fact customers have replaced stretch wrap up to 20 microns thick with this new 8 micron film making huge savings on their packaging costs. We currently have two options in the 8 micron stretch wrap range consisting of a 400mm x 600m x 8 micron hand roll and a 500mm x 3900m x 8 micron machine film. This stretch wrap is high performance film extruded at 8 micron and not to be confused with pre stretch film.
Pallet wrap is made of low density polyethylene (ldpe) and is used by a vast number of businesses in the UK and the world to secure pallets during transportation. Think about all of the trucks on our roads which carry up to 26 pallets at a time, that’s a lot of pallet wrap and as we all know plastic is a huge topic of conversation at the moment.
The good news is that all of the pallet wrap we sell at The Pallet Wrap Store is fully recyclable and the benefits of recycling can be financially lucrative. Not only can you receive £100 – £200 per tonne back you can also cut down on waste collections required to dispose of the product. In fact your bin collection company will be sorting your waste and selling the pallet wrap to make a profit which you could receive yourself. Why not try contacting a local recycling company and see if they will buy your scrap pallet wrap. You could make some money and do your bit for the environment.
